South Edmonson is embarking on a mutually beneficial partnership with Think Recycle, a community based, environmental fundraising program, created by Greentec. Students simply gather used print cartridges, and cell phones from their community and bring them to the school to be collected. In return, Greentec donates money for every qualifying cartridge and cell phone collected, so the students earn valuable funds for their school. Another added bonus is that Greentec donates one tree to American Forests for every 12 qualifying cartridges or cell phones that a school returns. The Think Recycle program has been responsible for planting over 31,000 tress to date, removing 5400 tones of carbon from the atmosphere. Visit www.thinkrecycle.com for more information." |
